Dirk Nowitzki, George W. Bush, Roger Staubach To Throw Out Pitches At World Series

As reported by Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com, the Texas Rangers have announced that ceremonial first pitches for World Series Games 3, 4, and 5 will be thrown out by basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki, former President George W. Bush, and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach.

Knobler adds that Hall of Fame pitcher (and Rangers owner, president, and CEO) Nolan Ryan will be catching President Bush's ceremonial pitch.

Major League Baseball had initially rejected  without explanation the suggestion of Nowitzki throwing out a World Series pitch.  Amidst speculation that MLB ownership was worried about angering NBA ownership by providing a stage to one of their locked-out players, Nowitzki's fans took their protests to Twitter, and the decision was quickly overturned.
