Former UCLA Player, Coach Walt Hazzard Dies At 69

Walt Hazzard, a player on legendary coach John Wooden's first NCAA championship team in 1964, died Friday in Los Angeles, his family has said. He was 69.

Hazzard had been recuperating after having heart surgery. Following a 10 year NBA career, Hazzard returned to coach UCLA for four seasons in the '80s. The Bruins were 77-47 in his tenure, reaching the NCAA tournament after the 1986-87 season.
