MLB Moving Toward Decision On Relocation Of Oakland A's

Sunday November 20th, 2011

Oakland A's owner Lew Wolff would like to relocate the team to San Jose. The San Francisco Giants believe this impinges on their territorial rights. The situation has been at an impasse for years.  Now, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of, MLB commissioner Bud Selig is attempting to resolve the issue.

Per Rosenthal, Selig has met with "top A's officials," and will meet with the Giants at some point in the next two weeks.

Selig will seek to find some way to convince the Giants to allow the move; barring that, Rosenthal suggests, MLB could purchase the A's from Wolff and find a buyer who believes the team can remain viable in Oakland, which Wolff does not.
