NY Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan May Receive $100,000 Fine

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan may receive a fine of up to $100,000 for directing an obscenity toward a fan during halftime of a 37-16 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 10, according to the New York Daily News.

A league spokesperson told the paper that the issue “remains under review” and “nothing has changed,” but Ryan’s use of the obscenity could amount to a fine between $75,000 and $100,000.

“I obviously, you know, made a mistake,” Ryan said last Monday. “I was full of emotion and just popped off, and obviously I know I represent the National Football League and I know I represent the Jets.  I know it was a mistake and I apologize.  This is who I am.  I made a mistake.”
