Report: Mariners OF Greg Halman Stabbed To Death, Brother Arrested

Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was reportedly stabbed to death in the city of Rotterdam, according to MSNBC. His brother has been arrested in relation to the incident.

"A 24-year-old died this morning in a stabbing and we have arrested the 22-year-old brother of the victim," police told reporters on the scene.

Halman was a star player for the Netherlands international team and was on the cusp of becoming a full-time Major League player for the Mariners. In 2011 he played 35 games for Seattle, posting a .230/.256/.345 hitting line with two home runs. The previous year he had hit 33 home runs and 82 RBI for the club’s Triple-A affiliate.
