Washington State University Part Ways With Coach Paul Wulff

Paul Wulff has been fired as the head football coach of Washington State University, athletic director Bill Moos announced today.

Wulff had one year remaining in his five-year contract with WSU.  During his tenure, the Cougars had a 9-40 record and were 4-8 this year.  The four wins include an upset of Arizona State and Colorado.

"Paul and I met at length Sunday, and then again today, after which I determined the best path for Cougar football moving forward is to have a change of leadership," Moos said, according to the team’s official site. "I appreciate all that Paul has done for Washington State football. He was hired with the objective of rebuilding this program and establishing a solid foundation. For that I thank him."
