Houston Coach Kevin Sumlin Denies Texas A&M Rumors

Houston head coach Kevin Sumlin denied reports stating that he would become the next coach at Texas A&M, according to the Houston Chronicle. Sumlin spoke to the media following Houston's 49-28 loss to Southern Mississippi in the Conference USA Championship Game.

"That is not true," Sumlin said, according to the paper. "I said earlier this week, two weeks ago that I wasn't going to talk to anybody period, during the football season. Many of the things that have been reported have now been found out to be false already. I've been consistent with that and that is not the case."

A Houston sports radio station had reported that Sumlin would be named the coach of Texas A&M within the next 24 hours. Sumlin denied the rumor, saying he hasn't spoken with anyone about a job opening.

"I haven't talked to anybody," Sumlin told the paper. "I haven't said anything to anybody about that."
