Les Miles To Be Named Home Depot Coach Of The Year

Wednesday December 7th, 2011

LSU head football coach Les Miles will be named the Home Depot Coach of the Year, the school announced on its website today.

Miles helped lead the Tigers to a perfect 13-0 record this year, marking the first time that LSU has gone undefeated in a 13-game season. The Tigers’ performance this season under Miles has helped them capture the No.1 overall seed entering January’s Allstate National BCS Championship, as well as the SEC Conference Championship.

Miles has now won two SEC Championships in his seven years as the head coach of LSU. The 58-year-old coach has posted a 75-17 record since taking over in Baton Rouge, and has gone 5-1 in bowl games. In 2008 he led the Tigers to a BCS Championship over Ohio State University.
