Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sentenced To Serve 90 Days In Jail

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was sentenced to serve six months in jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault and harassment charges, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN. Mayweather will surrender on Jan. 6 and serve three months, the second half of his sentence will be suspended.

In the plea deal, the original felony charges the boxer faced were reduced to misdemeanor charges. During the September 2010 incident in question, Mayweather was accused of hitting and threatening his ex-girlfriend and then threatening two of their children (at the time, 10 and 9 years old). The argument occurred because the boxer believed the woman was dating another man.
