The Minnesota Twins and free-agent starting pitcher Jason Marquis are nearing an agreement, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Marquis, 33, split last season between Washington and Arizona, making 23 total starts. His season ended on August 14 when a comebacker struck Marquis in the right leg; he fell to the ground an inning later and was out for the rest of the season with a fractured right leg.
