Report: Rays Interested In Luke Scott's Bat

The Tampa Bay Rays reportedly have interest in free-agent outfielder Luke Scott, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The Rays are currently looking for offensive-minded players who can play multiple positions and Scott may fit the bill. The Times reports, however, that the team has not ruled out re-signing Johnny Damon or going after free-agent Carlos Pena.

In just 64 games last season Scott hit .220/.301/.402 with nine home runs and 22 RBI for the Orioles. Those numbers fell well short of his career 162-game averages of .264/.349/.494 with 26 home runs and 79 RBI.
