LSU Wants To Expand Tiger Stadium

A proposal to expand Tiger Stadium will be presented to the LSU Board of Supervisors next week, the school announced in a release Wednesday.

The proposal is asking for an increase in seats and luxury boxes, which would reportedly bring capacity near 100,000.

If the proposal is approved, construction would begin in the fall with a target finishing date in the summer of 2014.

“It is important to always have an eye on the future and this investment in our facilities is critical for the future of LSU Athletics,” LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said in a press release. “When things are going well, you can move forward or you can fall behind. We are choosing to advance the athletics program so that it can remain a viable and successful part of the mission of our university.”
