Yankees Closer David Robertson To Undergo MRI Tuesday On Left Oblique

New York Yankees closer David Robertson will have an X-Ray and an MRI on Tuesday to investigate abdominal pain on his left side, according to ESPN.

“When I was out there (Friday), I could feel it getting a little sore, but it wasn’t like one pitch and I felt like something rip or tear or anything like that,” Robertson said. "I was hoping it was one of those things that would go away real quick, but it just keeps hanging around.''

The 27-year-old has not pitched since May 11 due to the discomfort, and according to ESPN, he has not attempted to throw during his time off either.  Robertson was promoted to the closer role earlier this month after legendary closer Mariano Rivera went down with a knee injury while shagging fly balls in batting practice.
