Baltimore Orioles CF Adam Jones isn't the only young star with a pending contract extension. A source tells FoxSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi that the Arizona Diamondbacks are ready to hand C Miguel Montero a lucrative extension.

Montero, who turns 29 in July, is a relatively late bloomer who has caught more than 100 games just twice in his career (2009 and 2011, when he was selected to his first All-Star Game), but good catchers are hard to find and the D-Backs evidently believe that Montero is worth big bucks. (Yadier Molina's five-year, $75 million extension with the Cardinals in March certainly helped Montero's cause.)
