Red Sox not ready to put Dustin Pedroia on DL with thumb injury
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has a slight tear in the abductor muscle in his right thumb, an MRI revealed on Tuesday, but the team has postponed a decision on whether to put him on the disabled list.
According to Tom Caron of NESN:

Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com tweets that Pedroia "will try to hit with it tomorrow; if he can't likely out 3-4 weeks."
Being the gamer that he is, Pedroia obviously wants to play through the injury. But it's hard to imagine that an injury that impacts his ability to grip both a ball and a bat would not sideline him.
