Oklahoma senior quarterback Landry Jones will have a tough time completing passes this season if his playmakers are not available to him. Sooners head coach Bob Stoops suspended receivers Trey Franks, Jaz Reynolds, Kameel Jackson, and safety Quentin Hayes in May for a violation of team rules.

Stoops took away the scholarships from Franks, Reynolds and Hayes on Thursday.  Jackson still remains on scholarship and was suspended for failing to meet the team's class attendance policy.

"(They) have been removed from scholarship and we aren't counting on any of them," Stoops told SoonerNation. "We'll keep moving forward. This program doesn't bank on any one individual player; we've recruited a lot of really good players so we'll keep moving on."

Stoops said "we'll see", when asked if there was a chance those three players would be reinstated to the team.

Oklahoma, a preseason #1 selection last season, went 10-3 and defeated Iowa in the Insight Bowl.
