Report: Royals are willing to part with rejuvenated closer Jonathan Broxton

Sources tell Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com that the Kansas City Royals have let teams know that they are willing to trade closer Jonathan Broxton.

Broxton, 1-1 with a 2.05 ERA and 20 saves in 30 appearances, has had a strong 2012 filling in for the injured Joakim Soria. Coming off an injury-filled 2011 season, Broxton signed a one-year, $4 million contract with Kansas City, so the team that acquires him would be committing to less than $2 million for the rest of the season.
