Penn State transfers continue: Kicker Anthony Fera to Longhorns

Another player is leaving Penn State.

The Nittany Lions' kicker, Anthony Fera, is transferring to the University of Texas at Austin to play for the Longhorns next season, according to a tweet from Joe Shad of ESPN.com.

Fera was a finalist for the Ray Guy award last year, an honor given annually to the top punter in college football. He was also a semi-finalist for the Lou Groza award, which goes to the best place-kicker in college football.

It is yet another blow to a school that has seen a number of its players transfer in the wake of the sanctions it received following the Jerry Sandusky fallout.

Silas Redd, who was slated to start at running back for the Nittany Lions next season, announced that he will instead transfer to the University of Southern California. Incoming freshman Jamil Pollard who had signed a letter of intent to play for Penn State next year will go to Rutgers. Khairi Fortt, a linebacker for the Nittany Lions, will go to the University of California.
