Phillies sellout streak ends at 257 games, longest-ever in NL history

The Philadelphia Phillies sellout streak has ended at 257 games, the organization announced Monday night during the Phillies' home game vs. the Atlanta Braves. It was the longest in National League history and the third-longest in major league history.

Attendance at Monday night's game was announced at 41,665. Capacity at Citizens Bank Park is 43,647.

“The number of sellouts could not have been possible without the tremendous loyalty of our fans who continue to lead all of Major League Baseball in average attendance this year,” Phillies president David Montgomery said in a release.

The Boston Red Sox have the longest-ever streak of sellouts in major-league history, a streak that is still active. The Red Sox have sold out 772 consecutive games at Fenway Park.
