Coach Butch Jones on Tuesday did the expected and announced that junior -- and All-Name Team member -- Munchie Legaux will be Cincinnati's starting quarterback for the Bearcats' season opener, edging out senior Brendon Kay.

“We looked at every throw that Brendon has made and that Munchie has made and right now we made the decision that Munchie Legaux will be our starting quarterback for Pittsburgh,” Jones said, “but we don’t want that competition to end."

Legaux, whose real name is Benton, was Zach Collaros' backup in 2011 and started three games when Collaros was injured. He finished the season 55 of 116 for 749 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions.
