South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore carted off field after knee injury

South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore was carted off the field in the second quarter of his team's game against Tennessee with an apparent right knee injury.

South Carolina was up 21-14 with 4:45 left in the second quarter when Lattimore took the ball and was heading toward the left tackle when he was hit by Tennessee's Herman Lathers and Eric Gordon. Gordon's helmet appeared hit Lattimore's right knee, sending Lattimore to the ground in obvious pain.

Lattimore was carted off the field and taken to the hospital after being surrounded by teammates and Tennessee players who wished him the best. Lattimore had 11 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown before the injury.

Lattimore missed the majority of last season after tearing the ACL in his left knee. Lattimore holds the school record for rushing touchdowns (38) and is 6th in school history in rushing yards (2,676).
