Tampa Bay Rays activate outfielder Desmond Jennings

Tampa Bay has activated outfielder Desmond Jennings from the disabled list.

Jennings hit the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 6 with a fractured finger. In his prior 10 games before the injury, Jennings was struggling to do much at the plate, hitting .167 (17-for-42) with 16 strikeouts.

The Rays are one game behind the Red Sox in the American League East, only a half-game worse than they were when Jennings went to the disabled list. In all, he missed 12 games.
