Cody Kessler officially named starting quarterback at USC

USC officially named Cody Kessler as its starting quarterback and he will start Saturday against Boston College, USC coach Lane Kiffin said Monday.

Kessler started the first two games for the Trojans this season, a 30-13 road victory over Hawaii and a 10-7 home loss to Washington State on Saturday.

In the game against the Cougars, Kessler went 8-of-13 for 41 yards and rushed for a 4-yard touchdown. Max Wittek relieved Kessler after halftime and went 3-of-8 for 13 yards.
