Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will likely miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, according to a tweet Tuesday afternoon by Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

Jones will get a second opinion on Wednesday, but the initial impression is that the 2012 Pro Bowler is done for the year, with Glazer reporting that the Falcons are "pessimistic." Jones suffered the injury on Monday night in a last-second 30-28 loss to the New York Jets. NFL Network's Jeff Darlington reported after the game that he saw Jones limping from the X-ray room.

The 24-year-old was second in the NFL in receiving yards (580) through the first five weeks of the season.

The Falcons are currently 1-4 and in third place in the NFC South. The team has a bye next week and then plays the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home on Oct. 20.
