Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Thursday that wide receiver Andre Johnson could be a game-time decision Sunday against the Rams.

Johnson continues to be bothered by a severe shin bruise suffered against the Ravens in Week 3.

The 11-year veteran did not practice Thursday, but will work out on Friday, Kubiak said.

ROSENFELS: Ex-NFL QB breaks down Matt Schaub’s struggles

From the Houston Chronicle:

“He’s just very sore from coming off that Baltimore injury,” Kubiak said. “He’s pushing through it for us. It’s just a tough thing to work through. We’re basically giving him Wednesdays and Thursdays, getting him going again on Fridays and trying to get to game day. But it’s been very frustrating for him. We’re doing everything we can to get him back to full strength, so it’s been tough. He did move around a little bit today. He took a little bit of the jog-through, a little bit of the walkthrough. But we will see more (Friday).”

Johnson, who has been game-to-game since incurring the injury, has 37 catches for 407 yards without a touchdown this season.
