Boston Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino has been scratched from Boston's starting lineup for Game 4 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals due to lower back tightness.

The announcement came just more than an hour before Game 4's scheduled first pitch. Victorino was slated to bat second and play right field. He has been replaced in right by Daniel Nava, who moved up to the second slot in the batting order. Jonny Gomes will take Nava's spot in left field and bat fifth.

The Red Sox trail 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.
