Report: Hawks, Bucks granted Disabled Player Extension
The NBA granted the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks Disabled Player Exceptions because of season-ending losses of two players, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
The DPE can be used for trades or signing free agents. The extension expires March 10.
The Hawks, who lost All-Star forward Al Horford from a torn pectoral muscle, were granted a $5.25 million exception.
The Bucks got a $1.75 million exception for losing guard Carlos Delfino when he needed season-ending foot surgery. After fracturing the foot, Delfino had surgery on it last May. It was determined he needed another surgery to repair his foot.
