The Tennessee Titans have released offensive tackle Michael Oher, the team announced Thursday

Oher started 11 games but was placed on injured reserve in December due to a toe injury.

Before his year with the Titans, the 28-year-old played five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, who selected him in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft.

Oher was featured in Michael Lewis' book The Blind Side and a movie of the same name starring Sandra Bullock.
