Mourinho gives up on Lampard to Inter -- for now

Internazionale boss Jose Mourinho has confessed he is unlikely to lure Frank Lampard away from Chelsea this summer, but insisted there is always next year.

The Special One has made no secret of the fact that Lampard is right at the top of his wish list, as the pair had a very good relationship while Mourinho was Blues boss.

Speculation has increased over the last few days concerning the England midfielder's potential switch to Inter, as the 29-year-old is currently vacationing in Italy with his family.

The announcement that Portuguese playmaker Deco -- also an Inter target -- has officially joined Chelsea only served to cast Lampard's future at Stamford Bridge into further doubt.

But Mourinho believes he has missed the boat on the ex-West Ham man this summer, although he is supremely confident of signing him next time around.

"This season? I don't think so," the former Porto boss said in The Sun. "Why won't he? Well it's not because we don't want him, but I'm sure Chelsea and Chelsea officials don't want to sell him. However, for next season it will be easier for him to join me at Inter. I'm 100 percent sure in 2009-10 he will be playing here."
