Real Madrid's Robben out at least 6 weeks

Arjen Robben could be out of action until the New Year after picking up a hamstring injury in Real Madrid's defeat against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Dutchman is set for yet another spell on the sidelines after being told that he has a slight tear in his calf muscle and will take at least six weeks to come back.

Medics are not keen to push Robben into action and have advised him that he would probably be best waiting until the first game after the Christmas break before returning.

Since joining Madrid, the former Chelsea star's time at the club has been blighted by injury and he has been labeled the "Glass Man" because of his time on the treatment table.

This latest setback comes when he was forging a regular place in Bernd Schuster's side as the club's only out-and-out wide player, but that progress has now been halted.

Madrid has other injury worries too, with Sergio Ramos a doubt to face Málaga in the league at the weekend after bruising his right foot in midweek.

Pepe failed to recover in time to face Juventus after receiving a blow to his left thigh against Almería last Sunday and is facing a race against time to be ready for the next match.
