Juventus tells Man. City Buffon is not for sale

The Old Lady has started swinging her handbag in response to endless reports that Buffon is on his way to Man City.

Juventus has, once again, reiterated its stance on super-goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon by telling Manchester City he is not for sale.

The cash-rich English side is planning a top-class transfer strategy in an attempt to bring in some big name stars and close the gulf in gap between itself and the Premier League's big guns.

Reports in England insist Buffon will make the lucrative trip to Eastlands but the Old Lady has other ideas.

Sporting director Alessio Secco has jumped up to back the club's ambition to keep its shot-stopper at all costs.

"I will repeat what [Giovanni] Cobolli Gigli and [Jean Claude] Blanc said over the last few days, our Gigi is not for sale," Secco told Tuttosport.

There has been plenty of talk regarding a $89 million offer for the Italian international but, with Juve keeping him shackled at Vinovo, the chances of him leaving are slim.
