Charlie Davies, the 22-year-old Hammarby striker, is drawing interest from Ligue 1 side FC Sochaux.

According to football365.fr, the French club, which finished near the bottom of the table in Ligue 1, has been keeping tabs on the young American and would like to sign him in the summer transfer market to help strengthen its attack.

Davies has scored 21 times in 60 appearances for Hammarby and has worked his way into Bob Bradley's U.S. national team thanks to his strong performances in the Swedish Allsvenskan. According to the report, it may have been Davies' good showings with the U.S. that have captured the eye of Sochaux management, which thinks he would be the perfect compliment to Vaclav Sverkos.

American players have found mixed results in Ligue 1 recently, with Carlos Bocanegra making a name for himself at Rennes while Freddy Adu has struggled mightily at AS Monaco.

Davies is in camp with the U.S. preparing for a busy summer that will include three major competitions and should give the young striker a glorious opportunity to show his skills against some top competition. --Goal.com
