Toluca GK Cristante out 8 weeks with torn MCL
Toluca goalkeeper Hernan Cristante is slated to undergo knee surgery after tests revealed a torn knee ligament.
Cristante injured his knee in Saturday's 1-0 win over Indios. A magnetic resonance imaging exam showed that Cristante had torn his medial collateral ligament. (MCL).
A typical MCL tear can take more than six weeks to recover from.
With the veteran 'keeper out, backup Alfredo Talavera will take over the goalkeeping duties. --Goal.com
