Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has conceded that he would consider making a switch to Tottenham Hotpsur from Serie A champions Internazionale, as he needs more first-team football to help seal a place in the France squad for next summer's World Cup in South Africa.

The 33-year-old was linked with a shock move to White Hart Lane over the summer, though he claimed then that he wouldn't join Spurs out of respect for the Gunners' fans.

However, he has acknowledged now that the prospect of working with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp might yet persuade him to make the switch.

"I have a big respect for the manager," he told The Evening Standard."He is somebody I could work under because I really like the personality he's got -- and every player I know who has worked with him has been really happy."

Vieria was on the bench for Inter when it played Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek, and has appeared in two out of four of the Italian club's games so far this season.
