Amauri may not receive passport in time to make Italy

There has been a lot of talk about Juventus striker Amauri possibly adding himself to the Italian national team despite being born in Brazil.

One of his competitors for the striker position, Sampdoria's Giampaolo Pazzini, even said earlier Monday he was a bit annoyed he is up against a player who isn't Italian.

However, the latest news could bring a smile to Pazzini's face.

According to Sky Sport 24, Amauri will only receive his Italian passport on March 5, 2010, which could be a problem because the Azzurri's last friendly before coach Marcello Lippi announces his squad for the World Cup takes place two days earlier.

It will obviously be hard for Amauri to convince Lippi to include him in the squad if he has never made an appearance in an Italy shirt.
