Mexico reportedly to play Dutch in May friendly

Mexico will play the Netherlands in a World Cup tune-up, El Tricolor's penultimate friendly before departing for South Africa next spring, according to reports.

El Tri will play the Dutch in Innsbruck, Austria, on May 26, according to Mexican daily Reforma.

The match will be one of three games Mexico will play in Europe ahead of the World Cup. The other dates Mexico will likely play on are on May 23 and 30, and possible opponents include England and Germany.

Mexico was drawn into Group A of the World Cup and will play South Africa in the opening match of the tournament before playing France and Uruguay. The Netherlands, meanwhile, are in Group E along with Denmark, Japan and Cameroon.
