Out-of-favor Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni is edging closer to a loan move to Roma as his agent sets the ball in motion.

It's no secret Toni is set to leave the German side and return to the peninsula as his relationship with coach Louis van Gaal shows no signs of being fixed.

Reports on Wednesday night claimed the Giallorossi were ready to take the striker until the end of the season with the option to make it a permanent deal for the next two years.

Toni's agent, Tulio Tinti, has spoken in relation to a possible Roma move, and he has confirmed it is a viable option.

"Roma are a big team and we will certainly consider them first if Toni returns to Italy," he told ForzaRoma.info. "For now, he is looking at a number of offers from around Europe, but we have not taken any decisions. We will decide in the first few days of January."
