Chivas USA announced on Thursday that it has signed defender Jimmy Conrad, a UCLA alum and 12-year MLS veteran, after acquiring his rights in the MLS Re-Entry Draft held last week. T
Conrad has played in MLS since 1999 and has 28 caps with the U.S. national team, and will join the Chivas USA's preseason camp in late January. Per MLS rules, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are very happy to come to an agreement with Jimmy," said Chivas USA Interim general manager Jose Domene in a press release. "We believe that he'll play an important role in next year's team, and that his talent and experience will help us both on and off the field."

In 12 MLS seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes (1999-2002) and Kansas City Wizards (2003-2010), Conrad has made 288 appearances (273 starts), scoring 19 goals and adding 10 assists and is a five-time MLS All-Star and winner of the 2005 MLS Defender of the Year award.
