San Jose Earthquakes defender Clarence Goodson will miss two more months due to his sprained left big toe, Earthquakes coach Mark Watson told MLSSoccer.com.
Goodson hasn't played since July 11. He will spend about four weeks with his foot immobilized and four more weeks training to get back into condition, Watson said.
One of the final cuts from the U.S. men's national team for the 2014 World Cup, Goodson also missed time from the Earthquakes in May and June while training with the U.S., including two matches in May. For the season, Goodson has played in 11 games and has one assist.
Jason Hernandez has started four of the club's last five games in Goodson's place and is expected to continue to do so in the latter's absence.
