New England Revolution acquire former U.S. youth player Tony Taylor
The New England Revolution have acquired former U.S. U-20 and U-23 forward Tony Taylor, the club announced Monday.
The Revolution added Taylor through the MLS lottery, winning the draw over the Portland Timbers.
Taylor, 25, played college soccer for a year each at South Florida and Jacksonville before making his professional debut with Portuguese club Estoril Praia in 2010. He played with Atletico CP on loan in 2011 and joined AC Omonia of Cyprus before last season.

In his club career, Taylor has made 68 total appearances and has scored 14 goals.
For the U.S. men's national program, Taylor started all three games for the U-20 team at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup and played with the U-23 team during CONCACAF Olympic qualifying in 2012.
The Revolution currently have 27 points and are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
