Real Madrid coach Ancelotti: Cristiano Ronaldo is in 'optimal condition'

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he thinks Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit for the European champions' La Liga match against Atletico Madrid on Saturday. Ronaldo has been dealing with a hamstring injury and missed Real Madrid's 4-2 loss to Real Sociedad on Aug. 31. He also missed Portugal's 1-0 loss to Albania on Monday.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he thinks Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit for the European champions' La Liga match against Atletico Madrid on Saturday, according to multiplereports.

Ronaldo has been dealing with a hamstring injury and missed Real Madrid's 4-2 loss to Real Sociedad on Aug. 31. He also sat out of Portugal's 1-0 loss to Albania on Monday.

Ronaldo has been training in Madrid all week in preparation for Saturday's match.

"Cristiano is in top shape. He has trained very well this week and I think he is in optimal condition," Ancelotti said on Friday.

"It is clear that Cristiano plays when he isn't tired or there is no risk of him injuring himself. That is what we did last season and I don't think he played too much last year, he only played when there was no risk of being injured."

The forward scored a goal in his lone La Liga game for Real Madrid this season.
