Chelsea manager José Mourinho said the team is "in trouble" because of injuries to several players, Jamie Jackson of The Guardian reports.

Strikers Loïc Rémy and Ramires are battling groin injuries and could miss Saturday's game. Rémy injured his groin last week against Maribor and needed a substitute, but he has not ruled himself out for this weekend. Ramires has been out for the past month with his groin injury.

Fellow striker Diego Costa is expected to return from groin and hamstring injuries this weekend. He has been bothered by the hamstring injury for much of the season and injured his groin while playing for Spain in Euro 2016 qualifying matches against Slovakia and Luxembourg. Costa was also hospitalized last week with a stomach virus and has not trained since returning from international play.

In addition to the long list of injured players, Mourinho's club faces a stretch of two games in three days against Manchester United on Sunday and Shrewsbury on Tuesday.

“I have only one day, we travel to London and we are travelling to Shrewsbury. We are in trouble because we have so many injured players,” he said. “It is even more difficult for us to go. We have to go. We now have a difficult match. Because they are doing very well in their league and doing very well against superior teams in the Capital One Cup. It’s a big day for them. We know it will be difficult for us. But that’s football.

Chelsea has opened the Premier League season unbeaten and is in first place with 23 points.
