EPL Odds: Manchester City a slight road favorite at Liverpool in key clash

Publish date:

Manchester City has seemingly broken out of a 1-1-4 slump with two straight blowout wins in Premier League play, but City will be put to the test on Sunday going on the road to face Liverpool.

Liverpool appeared to be headed toward a disastrous season after getting off to a 6-7-4 start through 17 games, but since then the club has done nothing but climb the standings. Unbeaten since Dec. 21 in league play, Liverpool is 7-0-2 over its last nine EPL games and is coming off an impressive 2-0 win at Southampton.

Despite its recent success, Liverpool is still a +190 underdog at home against Manchester City according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Man City is going off at +140 to win while a draw between the two clubs would pay +250. Liverpool is 7-0-5 in its last 12 home games against Manchester City.

Arsenal hosts Everton in another interesting matchup on Sunday. Over its last 11 league games, Arsenal is 8-2-1, but both of those losses came on the road; the club is 6-0-0 in its last six games at home. Everton enters the game as a +550 underdog to win outright and +325 to force a draw, while Arsenal is a -200 favorite at home. Things have not been going well for Everton with a 1-5-4 record over its last 10 games. Arsenal is 9-1-6 in its last 16 games against Everton.

Southampton has been a streaky club this year. After starting the season off 8-2-1, Southampton went 0-4-1 before going 5-0-1 over its next six games. The club may be in another one of its downswings with a 1-2-1 record over its last four, but it will try to get back on track as a +125 road favorite on Saturday against West Brom on the soccer betting lines. West Brom is going off at +230 at home while the draw is going off at +225.

Manchester United is 10-1-1 over its last 12 home games, and is a heavy favorite on Saturday at -300 to win at home over Sunderland. Sunderland is a +900 underdog to win and the draw pays +400.
