Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said Friday that he expects Diego Costa to miss several games because of a hamstring injury.

Costa sustained the injury when he came off the bench at halftime of a win over Stoke City last Saturday. The striker had been dealing with hamstring issues prior to suffering the injury.

Chelsea currently sits atop the Premier League table with 70 points. After meeting Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, Chelsea faces consecutive matches against Manchester United and Arsenal.

The two clubs are ranked third and second, respectively, in the league table.

Mourinho was asked on Friday whether Costa will play again this season.

"Certainly. For sure. But I’m not concerned, not concerned," Mourinho said, according to The Guardian. "I don’t want to think about it for two or three weeks, until he’s ready to play. That’s my approach. I'm not going to cry about it until he can play."

"You know, I think we have eight matches to play. If he plays four, it’s normal. If he plays three, it’s a little bit below what I’m expecting. If he plays five, it’s more than I’m expecting. I’m thinking about four matches to play."

Costa, 26, has scored 19 goals and recorded three assists this season.
