Ireland will vote against Sepp Blatter in FIFA presidential election
Ireland will vote against sitting FIFA president Sepp Blatter in Friday's election, Irish FA chief executive told the BBC.
"If he was doing the right thing by football, which he says he cares and loves, then he should step aside and let somebody else come forward and improve the image of the world game," Delaney said.
Blatter and Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan are the only two candidates in the election, which Blatter is expected to win. Members of Hussein's election team told theAssociated Press Monday that they were offered illegal access to Blatter's financial records. The person offering the records also told Hussein's team they could secure 47 votes for Hussein.
Blatter is seeking a fifth term as FIFA's president and has not been challenged in an election since 2002. The FBI is reportedly investigating corruption claims against Blatter and FIFA with regard to the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids. FIFA commissioned a report to investigate the bid process but found no improprieties. A summary of the report was released publicly, but the FBI is reportedly attempting to secure the full report.

ESPN's E:60 documentary reported earlier this month that "Blatter has decided, due to the FBI investigation, that it would be unwise to set foot on American soil." Blatter said days later that he planned to visit the U.S. for the Copa America in 2016.
