The United States and Australia were the two most tweeted-about teams during the group stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, according to Twitter data released on Thursday.

The United States and Australia were the two most tweeted-about teams during the group stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, according to Twitter data released on Thursday.

The teams’ June 8 match, a 3–1 U.S. win, was also the most popular game on Twitter, and Megan Rapinoe’s second goal of the game was the most popular moment on the platform. The U.S. also had the next five most tweeted-about moments of the group stage, ranging from Abby Wambach’s goal late in the first half of the June 16 game against Nigeria to Alex Morgan subbing in during the 79th minute of the June 12 game against Sweden.

Behind the U.S. and Australia, the next most tweeted-about teams were Nigeria, Brazil, France and Colombia.

Five Americans were among the six most tweeted-about players during the group stage: Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe and Abby Wambach were the top four, with Sydney Leroux sixth. Brazil’s Marta, a five-time FIFA World Player of the Year, was fifth.

Twitter said tweets related to the Women’s World Cup, which has the official hashtag of #FIFAWWC, have been viewed 2.7 billion times.
