Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola undecided about future
Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola says he is undecided about whether he would be with the team beyond his contract amid growing speculation about his future.
Guardiola has been with Bayern, this season's Bundesliga champions, since 2013 and his contract will expire next June. He also denied that Premier League team Manchester City has offered him a job.
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said last month that Manuel Pellegrini would stay on a manager despite not winning any trophies in 2014–15 and finishing second in the Premier League.
“This is the first and last time I’ll talk about this ... I have not had any offers from other clubs,” Guardiola told reporters. “I have received no offers. I have read a lot in recent months, but I want to do the best for this club. I have not made a decision yet as to what is best for this club. One year is a long time.”
But former Bayern Munich midfielder Stefan Effenberg says that he believes Guardiola will leave the squad at the end of his deal.
“I am pretty certain that Guardiola will no longer be in charge of Bayern after 2016,” Effenberg said. “Who could replace him? I am thinking about Jurgen Klopp. He is definitely an alternative for Guardiola in Munich.”
“Maybe Stefan Effenberg, the great legend of Bayern, knows more than me. I'll call him,” Guardiola responded.

Guardiola, 44, has won five trophies with Bayern and says although his future is in doubt, he is happy to be with the squad.
“I am not convinced whether it is right for the club if I were to extend my contract. I'll never be a problem for Bayern,” he said.
Bayern starts its 2015–16 campaign on Saturday in the German Super Cup against Wolfsburg, who finished second in Bundesliga last season.
