PSG’s David Luiz reluctant to return to Paris after attacks
Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz was reluctant to return to Paris in light of Friday’s terrorist attacks, he told Sky Sports.
Luiz was on international duty for Brazil during the attacks, in which terrorists used guns and bombs to kill over 130 people in several sites in Paris. Multiple explosions occurred outside Stade de France as the French national team played Germany in an international friendly.
“I have my girlfriend and some family and friends in Paris,” Luiz said. “They were all very sad and scared. I don’t know what I’m going to do and whether I will head back. Playing for PSG is my job but if it were up to me then I would not go back.”
Luiz tweeted later on Monday that he had arrived in Paris and was heading to training.
On Sunday, The Wall Street Journalreported that at least one of the suicide bombers had a ticket to the France-Germany match, but he detonated his explosive vest outside the stadium when it was discovered during a security check at the gate.

Sporting events in Paris were canceled throughout the weekend. PSG held a moment of silence on Monday morning at the team’s training facility.
PSG is not slated to host another home game until Nov. 28 against Troyes. They will face Lorient on the road on Saturday before a Champions League match against Malmo on Nov. 25.
The Stade de France and Paris Saint-Germain’s Parc des Princes will host Euro 2016 matches next July. The final is slated to be played at Stade de France.
