Barcelona forward Lionel Messi hopes that he will be able to play the rest of his career with the club, he said in an interview with France Football magazine on Tuesday.

He didn’t go as far as to say he wouldn’t play for another club, but made it clear he feels Barcelona is home.

"In football, anything can happen, but my idea and my desire is to stay at Barcelona," Messi said via ESPN.

Messi, 28, recently won his fifth Ballon d'Or, which is given to the top player in the world. Messi helped Barcelona win titles in the Champions League, Copa del Rey and La Liga last season.
