Luis Suarez made his return to the Uruguay national team with a goal in the 47th minute of Friday night's World Cup qualifier against Brazil.

The match was Luis Suarez's first competitive international match since being dismissed from the 2014 World Cup for biting Giorgio Chiellini of Italy. Edi Cavani scored the first goal of the game for Uruguay.

Entering the night's game, Uruguay sits in second place in the South American World Cup Qualifying Stage with nine points. Brazil sat in third place with seven points.

Friday’s match resulted in a 2–2 draw. Entering Friday, Brazil had won three of its last five meetings with Uruguay.
